Miss J.’s Story

I’m going to admit it: I was lost. I was facing homelessness, illness, depression, and domestic violence. With so much happening in my life, it was difficult to hold on to my faith or see a way forward.

I became ready to change how I viewed myself, how I loved myself, and my relationship with God. MVU believed in me, encouraged me, and held me accountable. Little by little, I began to see something in myself that I couldn’t always see before.

Today, I am no longer homeless. I love myself, my relationship with God continues to grow, and I have discovered a career path I want to pursue. Instead of simply trying to make it through life, I am thinking about my future. Through prayer, community, and a different perspective, I am learning to respond to life’s challenges in healthier ways.

I see growth in my mindset, my faith, and the way I carry myself. I’m still growing, still learning, and still becoming. Today, I can finally say: I’m proud of me!

Lady T’s Story

When I first joined My Vision Unlimited, I was reevaluating my life and felt conflicted about my future. I took a step of faith by moving to another state to better myself and build a more stable, peaceful life. I knew I needed to change my mindset and how I looked at things when they did not go as planned. I needed to be more positive and uplifting to myself.

Coaching has been one of the most helpful parts of MVU for me. I have learned a lot about my personality and how it ties into everything I do. Coaching has given me a new outlook on my path and helped me learn to celebrate myself.

When I go through difficult situations, I remind myself that everything happens for a reason. I am learning to be mindful and keep pushing forward. I see my growth every day in the decisions I make as I consider my future. This year, I am proud to be working toward a new car and a new apartment after moving to another state.

My encouragement to others is this: Invest in yourself for the best version of yourself.
